Unable to use rhn tools or yum

Issue

  • It seems that a recent upgrade has broken the ability for us to utilise rhn_check or yum on two of our servers.

  • When yum or rhn_check is called, the following error is received.


[root@xxxx ~]# yum update
Loaded plugins: rhnplugin
Bus error (core dumped)

[root@xxxx ~]# rhn_check
Bus error (core dumped)

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
