Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • IBM POWER mpaths aren't failing over to other Virtual I/O Server in dual VIOS config
  • Automatic recovery of failed paths in multipath not happenning
  • Two separate RHEL 6.1 on POWER LPARs.  They each have just one LUN and each are multipathed to two VIO servers. when one of the VIO servers is rebooted, not only did the paths not recover when the VIO server came back up, but one of the file systems remounted as read-only during the reboot.
