    <Details xml:lang="en:us" source="Mitre">
ImageMagick before 6.9.13-58 and 7.x before 7.1.2-33 contains a memory leak caused by a missing cleanup when the -set profile option is used. An attacker who induces a user to process images with the -set profile option can leak memory, potentially exhausting resources and causing a denial of service.
    </Details>
    <Details xml:lang="en:us" source="Red Hat">
A flaw was found in ImageMagick. Improper cleanup during the processing of the -set profile option can lead to a Denial of Service (DoS) caused by a memory leak. By convincing a user or automated workflow to process images with this option enabled, an attacker can exhaust system memory resources and disrupt application availability.
    </Details>
    <Statement xml:lang="en:us">
This vulnerability is rated as having a Low security impact because exploitation requires processing images with specific command-line arguments, and transient memory leaks in command-line utilities are automatically reclaimed upon process exit. In typical Red Hat deployments, ImageMagick is executed as a short-lived standalone utility rather than a persistent service, significantly limiting the possibility of system resource starvation. Elevated risk is restricted to non-standard environments where long-running processes repeatedly invoke profile assignments on untrusted files without process boundaries.

    <Mitigation xml:lang="en:us">
Mitigation for this issue is either not available or the currently available options do not meet the Red Hat Product Security criteria comprising ease of use and deployment, applicability to widespread installation base, or stability.
