RHEA-2014:0050 - Product Enhancement Advisory
Synopsis
spice-activex-win enhancement update
Type/Severity
Product Enhancement Advisory
Topic
An updated spice-activex-win package is now available.
Description
The spice-activex-win package provides an ActiveX plug-in for Internet Explorer
that enables users of Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager to connect to
virtual machines using Spice.
The updated ActiveX plug-in is released as part of the rhevm-spice-client
package.
This updated package fixes the following bug.
- The user was asked to install the spice cab file repeatedly when accessing a
vm through a user portal from IE under administrator privileges, on a clean
Windows7 client machine. The user now gets a spice session opened, and they are
not requested to continuously install the cab file, since SpiceX is installed
already. (#847065)
All administrators of Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization environments are advised
to install these updated packages.
Solution
Before applying this update, make sure all previously-released errata relevant
to your system have been applied.
