Topic
New packages that provide user utilities for the IBM Advanced System
Management adapter are now available.
Description
The ibmasm package contains the tools necessary to set up the IBM Advanced
System Management Drivers that are shipped with the SuSE kernel.
The IBM eServer xSeries platforms containing the Advanced System Management
(RSA1) PCI card have a kernel driver that exports control interfaces.
These packages contain the tools necessary to utilize the IBM Advanced
System Management kernel driver.
The package is turned off by default; to turn it on, the chkconfig
line in the /etc/rc.d/init.d/ibmasm file should have its first
argument changed from "-" to "35".
Users who wish to use the IBM Advanced System Management kernel driver are
advised to install these new packages.
