Topic

Updated selinux-policy packages that fix several bugs are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.

Description

The SELinux-policy packages contain the rules that govern how confined processes
run on the system.

This update fixes the following bugs:

  • Previously, rules that allow the smbd_t SELinux domain to edit files to the /var/run/gluster directory were missing. As a consequence, when the statedump command was executed to collect the files on the gfapi side, statedump was not able to dump the files to the /var/run/gluster directory. With this update, the missing rules have been added to the Samba SELinux distribution policy, and smbd_t SELinux can now successfully edit the files. (BZ#1462824)
  • Previously, sevice failed to start while SELinux running in enforcing mode. As a consequence, when the rh-mysql57-mysqld server started, the transition from the mysqld_safe_t (mysqld_safe) to the mysqld_t (mysqld) domain was blocked. A new SELinux allow rule has been added to the mysqld SELinux security module and rh-mysql57 now works properly in the described scenario. (BZ#1464145)
  • Previously, the mysqld_safe_helper script had the bin_t SELinux context. As a consequence, the SELinux domain transition was missing, and mysqld_safe_helper run as the mysqld_safe_t instead of the mysqld_t domain. With this update, mysqld_safe_helper runs with the label mysqld_exec_t, and now it runs successfully in SELinux enforcing mode. (BZ#1466327)

Users of selinux-policy are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix these bugs.
