Topic

Updated tcsh packages that fix two bugs are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.

Description

The tcsh packages provide an enhanced and widely compatible version of the C shell (csh). The tcsh command language interpreter can be used as an interactive login shell, as well as a shell script command processor.

This update fixes the following bugs:

  • Previously, the output of the "jobs" built-in command was displayed to standard error instead of standard output. This bug has been fixed, and the output of "jobs" is now correctly displayed to stdout. (BZ#1357127)
  • This update fixes several regressions in the tcsh command language interpreter:
  • When browsing command history using the <Ctrl+P> or <UpArrow> keys, backslashes are now shown correctly
  • A backslash now correctly escapes user-defined aliases; this fixes git-completion
  • The output of the "time" built-in command is now correctly captured when used with the "setenv" built-in command

(BZ#1357126)

Users of tcsh are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix these bugs.
