Updated unzip packages that fix one bug and add one enhancement are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.
Description
The unzip utility is used to list, test, and extract files from zip archives.
This update fixes the following bug:
- Previously, the initialization of the symbolic link flag was missing in the information about an entry. Consequently, if an archive contained more than 16,384 entries and one of the entries was a symbolic link, some other entries could be mistakenly presented as symbolic links as well. With this update, the missing initialization of the symbolic link flag has been added. As a result, regular files are not evaluated as symbolic links anymore. (BZ#740012)
In addition, this update adds the following enhancement:
- With this update, unzip supports also non-Latin and non-Unicode encodings. This prevents creating files with incorrect names. The new encodings can be specified using the "-O" and "-I" options. (BZ#885540)
Users of unzip are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix this bug and add this enhancement.
