Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
An updated redhat-certification-hardware package that fixes/adds various bugs
and enhancements is now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.
Description
The redhat-certification-hardware package contains the Red Hat Enterprise Linux
Hardware Certification Test Suite, which verifies the compatibility of hardware
devices.
Each test run builds a results database for submission to the Red Hat Hardware
Catalog as an XML file. The redhat-certification-hardware package replaces the
hwcert-client Test Suite for certifying hardware for use with Red Hat Enterprise
Linux.
This update fixes/adds the following bugs and improvements:
- 1245347 el7 version Video test updated to provide the display value with
command xdpyinfo
- 1248707 Fixed audio test issue where multiple devices weren't tested
- 1248818 Added package requirement for xfsprogs to storage test
- 1255486 Improved error message for missing hdmi speaker device
- 1253658 Changed to more reliable means for determining realtime is active
- 1249774 Allow for manually adding a test to plan without requiring a device
- 1253663 Present HDMI or Internal with audio test information in cli print and
web ui
- 1253664 Running a single audio test in web ui only runs that test for that
device
- 1252165 Fix erroneous suspend test failure
- 1257958 Wireless test traceback when checking supported types
- 1251709 Kdump test modified in the following ways:
- When saving the crash core file, a UUID is generated and used to create the
directory to look in when the second portion of the kdump test runs (upon
restarting the panicked machine). This will be unique per test run.
- We know that there should only be one directory one level down from the new
UUID directory. We will raise an error if more than one is detected.
- We no longer raise an error if the directory's created time (taken from
directory name) is outside of the range previously permitted. Instead, now, we
will raise a warning and select the closest one (the only one in the directory,
else it would error).
All redhat-certification-hardware users are advised to upgrade to this updated
package, which fixes/adds the bugs and enhancements mentioned above.
