Updated resource-agents packages that fix several bugs and add various enhancements are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.

Description

The resource-agents packages contain a set of scripts to interface with several
services to operate in a High Availability (HA) environment for both the
Pacemaker and rgmanager service managers.

This update fixes the following bugs:

• With this update, the locking_type=3 option is automatically specified in the

lvm.conf file after manually editing the HALVM settings in the file. (BZ#773395)

• Previously, the virtual machine (VM) instances managed by the VirtualDomain

agent failed during the monitor operation if the libvirtd daemon was not
available. This caused the Pacemaker resource manager to unnecessarily recover
VM resources when libvirtd failed. With this update, the VirtualDomain agent is
capable of monitoring KVM virtual machines without requiring libvirtd to be
accessible, thus fixing this bug. (BZ#1083041)

• This update modifies the Filesystem agent so that it always waits for all

modules to load before checking the file system availability. (BZ#1083231)

• Previously, Pacemaker's nfsserver resource agent was unable to properly

perform NFSv3 network status monitor (NSM) state notifications. As a
consequence, NFSv3 clients could not reclaim file locks after server relocation
or recovery. This update introduces the nfsnotify resource agent, which allows
NSM notifications to be sent correctly, thus allowing NFSv3 clients to reclaim
file locks. (BZ#1091101)

• Previously, when the Filesystem resource agent killed a NFS server and an

unresponsive NFS mount point was present on the system, other mount points were
blocked during their stop operation. With this update, Filesystem has been
modified to use kill methods that do not block other operations. (BZ#1095944)

• With this update, the LVM agent has been modified to automatically check if

the lvmetad daemon is running before starting. In case the daemon is running,
the agent produces a warning log message. (BZ#1097593)

• With this update, an incorrect value of a recommended start and stop timeout

has been fixed in the VirtualDomain agent metadata. (BZ#1105655)

• Under certain circumstances, the ethmonitor agent reported the

status of the InfiniBand network link incorrectly. This bug has been fixed and ethmonitor now detects the connectivity status correctly. (BZ#1122285)

• If the file system used by a mysql resource became unavailable, the mysql

agent's validation checks prevented that resource from stopping. This bug has
been fixed and mysql resources are now properly restarted in the described
case. (BZ#1138871)

• Previously, the nfsserver resource agent required the floating IP address to

be associated with the NFS server instance in order to start before nfsserver,
which was an incorrect ordering. Consequently, the nfsserver agent could not
properly support the NFSv4 Active Passive use case. With this update, the
correct resource ordering is followed, and the floating IP can be started after
nfsserver. (BZ#1151180)

In addition, this update adds the following enhancements:

• This update introduces the galera resource agent for managing multi-master

MySQL instances with Pacemaker to the resource-agents package. (BZ#1116166)

• The pacemaker nfsserver agent has been enhanced with the ability to set a TCP

or UDP port on the rpc.statd server trough an OCF configuration option, to match
the same functionality in the rgmanager agent. (BZ#1096377)

• This update introduces the iSCSILogicalUnit agent for managing iSCSI Logical

Units. (BZ#1118029)

• The pacemaker agent has been enhanced with the ability to parse the exit

reason string from the OCF output and present it to the user. Exit reason
strings supplement exit codes produced by resource agents to ease debugging.
(BZ#1128933)

• This update adds support for managing Docker containers in high availability

environment to the VirtualDomain agent. (BZ#1135026)

Users of resource-agents are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which
fix these bugs and add these enhancements.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
