Synopsis
ovirt-hosted-engine-ha bug fix and enhancement update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Red Hat Insights patch analysis
Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
Updated ovirt-hosted-engine-ha packages that fix several bugs and add various
enhancements are now available.
Description
The ovirt-hosted-engine-ha package enables the self-hosted engine to be highly
available. A self-hosted engine is a virtualized environment in which the Red
Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager runs on a virtual machine on the hosts
managed by the Manager. If the host running the virtual machine goes into
maintenance, the virtual machine is migrated automatically to another host in
the environment.
Changes to the ovirt-hosted-engine-ha component:
- The Hosted Engine now supports Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 hypervisors.
(BZ#1125813)
- Previously, in Hosted Engine environments with more than two host nodes, the
host with the lowest engine status score was being chosen as the best
alternative host for migration of the Hosted Engine virtual machine. This
prevented the virtual machine from being migrated. Now, the host with the
highest engine status score is chosen as the best alternative and migration
occurs as expected. (BZ#1093366)
Changes to the RFEs component:
- The Hosted Engine can now be deployed on iSCSI storage domains. (BZ#1067162)
