Topic
Updated openstack-nova packages that fix several bugs are now available for Red
Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform 5.0 (Icehouse) for Red Hat Enterprise
Linux 7.
Description
Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform provides the facilities for
building a private or public infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) cloud
running on commonly available physical hardware. This advisory includes
packages for:
- OpenStack Compute service ("nova").
OpenStack Compute (nova) launches and schedules large networks of virtual
machines, creating a redundant and scalable cloud computing platform.
Compute provides the software, control panels, and APIs required to
orchestrate a cloud, including running virtual machine instances and
controlling access through users and projects.
These packages update the OpenStack Compute service to version 2014.1.2 and add
the following bugfixes and enhancements:
- With this update, the VMware driver has been updated to initially copy cached
images to a unique temporary directory before landing. Consequently, only one
process is permitted to create the cached copy, thereby restricting resizing of
that image to one process only.
As a result, this fix resolves numerous race conditions found in previous
releases that occasionally prevented multiple instances from using the same
image. (BZ#1080618)
