Topic
Updated rhevm-spice-client packages are now available.
Description
Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager provides access to virtual machines
using SPICE. These SPICE client packages provide the SPICE client for both
Windows 32-bit operating systems and Windows 64-bit operating systems.
Changes to the mingw-virt-viewer component:
- Previously, in Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization 3.3, the console.vv file did
not include an auto-conf parameter. This meant that virt-viewer reverted to
default settings and the SPICE console opened only on a single display, did not
open in full-screen mode, and used default screen resolution, all of which
required to be manually set for each instance. Now, virt-viewer enables
auto-conf when 'fullscreen' is set in the console.vv file and the SPICE console
opens with the expected display settings. (BZ#1094340)
- Previously, various clipboard managers, operating between the client and the
guest, would occasionally lose synchronization, which resulted in clipboard data
loss and the SPICE console freezing. Now, spice-gtk and libspice-client-gtk have
been patched, and a simpler clipboard synchronization agent has been included,
to improve clipboard operations and avoid clipboard mismanagement from causing
the SPICE console to freeze. (BZ#1105181)
All administrators of Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization environments are advised
to install these updated packages.
