RHBA-2014:0546 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
ovirt-hosted-engine-setup bug fix update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Topic
An updated ovirt-hosted-engine-setup package that fixes one bug is now
available.
Description
The ovirt-hosted-engine-setup package provides a self-hosted engine tool for Red
Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager. A self-hosted engine is a virtualized
environment in which the Manager runs on a virtual machine on the hosts managed
by the Manager. The self-hosted engine currently only runs on Red Hat Enterprise
Linux 6.5 hosts.
To install the self-hosted engine, run:
# yum install ovirt-hosted-engine-setup
Refer to the Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization 3.3 Installation Guide for
further information.
Changes to the ovirt-hosted-engine-setup component:
- Previously, the Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager would not provide
CPU information for cluster objects in the response to the first query made by
the ovirt-hosted-engine-setup command under certain conditions. This would cause
setup to fail after timing out due to not having CPU information. Now, the
ovirt-hosted-engine-setup command queries the Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization
Manager again until the timeout is reached, allowing CPU information to be
retrieved corrected and setup to complete successfully. (BZ#1092378)
All Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager users should install this
update which includes this enhancement.
