Updated spacewalk-backend packages that fix two bugs are now available for Red
Hat Satellite 5.6.

Description

Red Hat Satellite is a systems management tool for Linux-based infrastructures.
It allows for provisioning, remote management and monitoring of multiple Linux
deployments with a single, centralized tool.

This update fixes the following bugs:

• Previously the spacewalk-repo-sync tool exhibited inconsistent behavior when

syncing content from a repository with broken Yum metadata. The "--exclude"
option of spacewalk-repo-sync seemed to exclude more packages than were
specified. Also, spacewalk-repo-sync downloaded some packages every time it was
run, regardless of if the packages had been downloaded before. This update
ensures sensible and consistent behavior of spacewalk-repo-sync when it is
provided with broken Yum metadata by presenting spacewalk-repo-sync with a
unique list of packages. (BZ#1008802)

• Previously, the spacewalk-repo-sync tool did not support excluding or

including packages in its yum.conf configuration file, which had a negative
impact to customers who required this feature. This update enhances Satellite
with the ability to configure per-channel exclude or include package settings
for the spacewalk-repo-sync tool. This allows the user to configure their
channels in the configuration file without the need to further specify packages
while running spacewalk-repo-sync. (BZ#1065384)

All users of Red Hat Satellite are advised to upgrade to this updated packages,
which fix these bugs.
