Updated xorg-x11-drv-mga packages that fix one bug are now available for Red Hat
Enterprise Linux 6.

Description

The xorg-x11-drv-mga packages provide a video driver for Matrox G-series
chipsets for the X.Org implementation of the X Window System.

This update fixes the following bug:

  • Previously, resolutions higher than 1440x900 were not available with Red Hat

Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6.4 using the Kronos 3 and 4 chips. Consequently, the
Matrox driver would not allow native resolutions to be reached for many
monitors. With this update, X Server no longer discards larger resolution modes,
and resolutions higher than 1440x900 are now available. (BZ#986833)

Users of xorg-x11-drv-mga are advised to upgrade to these updated packages,
which fix this bug.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously-released errata relevant
to your system have been applied.
