Topic

Updated selinux-policy packages that fix one bug are now available for Red Hat
Enterprise Linux 6 Extended Update Support.

Description

The selinux-policy packages contain the rules that govern how confined processes
run on the system.

This update fixes the following bug:

  • Previously, the mysqld_safe script was unable to execute a shell (/bin/sh)

with the shell_exec_t SELinux security context. Consequently, the mysql55 and
mariadb55 Software Collection packages were not working correctly. With this
update, SELinux policy rules have been updated and these packages now work as
expected. (BZ#966996)

Users of selinux-policy are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which
fix this bug.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously-released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.

This update is available via the Red Hat Network. Details on how to
use the Red Hat Network to apply this update are available at
https://access.redhat.com/knowledge/articles/11258
