Topic

An updated rhevm-dwh package that fixes several bugs in upgrade from 3.1 is now
available.

Description

The Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager data warehouse package provides
the ETL process and DB scripts to create a historic database API. It enables SQL
BI reports creation for management and monitoring.

This update fixes the following bugs:

  • Previously there was a delay between stopping ovirt-engine and starting the

upgrade of the database, but no explanation for the delay, which is caused by
backing up the database. Now, a message displays that the database is being
backed up. (BZ#884276)

  • After upgrading rhevm-dwh, a column which should not have returned null values

in the virtual machine disks history tables returned null values. Consequently,
aggregation was not performed and a range of dates were missing in the database.
This update causes aggregation to start right after the last null value, so all
required history data can be accessed. However, the data which was not
aggregated prior to upgrade will not be aggregated after. (BZ#907434)

  • Previously, it was required for the Manager to be running when the database

warehouse service started. Consequently, upgrading the rhevm-dwh package
produced an error which prevented the database warehouse service from
automatically starting. The requirement for a running Manager has been removed,
so now the rhevm-dwh service starts automatically after upgrade. (BZ#916643)

All Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization reports and data warehouse users are
advised to upgrade to this updated package which addresses these issues.
