Topic
An updated HTS package that fixes various bugs is now available.
Description
The Red Hat Hardware Test Suite (HTS) certifies hardware for Red Hat
Enterprise Linux.
This updated HTS package includes fixes for the following bugs:
- on fully-virtualized HVM guests, HTS would detect and plan tests for
multiple network interfaces when only one physical Network Interface Card
(NIC) was present. With this update, HTS correctly plans test only for
physical network interfaces and ignores virtual network interfaces, thus
resolving the issue.
- previously, when testing fully-virtualized guest installations, the
profiler test was planned. However, because the profiler test is not
required for certification, it is no longer planned on fully-virtualized
guest installations.
- the DVD-burning test failed when attempting to burn DVD media, and the
cdrecord utility produced the following error message: "cdrecord: Drive
does not support TAO recording." With this update, HTS now passes the
correct options to the cdrecord utility, and also parses its output
correctly, which enables the DVD-burning test to succeed.
All users of HTS are advised to upgrade to this updated package, which
resolves these issues.
Solution
Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
To update all RPMs for your particular architecture, run:
rpm -Fvh [filenames]
where [filenames] is a list of the RPMs you wish to upgrade. Only those
RPMs which are currently installed will be updated. Those RPMs which are
not installed but included in the list will not be updated. Note that you
can also use wildcards (*.rpm) if your current directory *only* contains the
desired RPMs.
Please note that this update is also available via Red Hat Network. Many
people find this an easier way to apply updates. To use Red Hat Network,
launch the Red Hat Update Agent with the following command:
up2date
This will start an interactive process that will result in the appropriate
RPMs being upgraded on your system.
