Topic
Updated device-mapper packages that include various bug fixes and
enhancements are now available.
Description
The device-mapper packages provide a library required by logical volume
management utilities such as LVM2 and dmraid.
This update provides the following bug fixes and enhancements:
- Fixes crash in 'dmsetup status' without '--showkeys' when used with a
cryptographic device mapping (for example, an LVM2 logical volume used with
cryptsetup).
- The column-based output invoked by 'dmsetup info -c -o' has been improved
so that the field names given with '-o' are more numerous. A full list of
field names with descriptions is given in the updated dmsetup man page and
may be displayed with 'dmsetup info -c -o help'. Previously only the
'name' field was available.
- Fixes default 'dmsetup info -c' report buffering and add '--unbuffered'.
- Adds '--columns <field_list>', '--sort <field_list>' and '--separator
<separator>' command line options to 'dmsetup info' to control the format
of data reported. See the 'dmsetup' man page for further details.
- Updates 'dmsetup help' and 'dmsetup' man page and usage text for
'--columns', '-o', '--sort', '--noheadings', and '--separator' options.
- Improves the mirror device monitoring daemon (dmeventd) interfaces and
robustness. Adds '-d' (debug) and '-V' (version) command line options,
fixes memory leaks, and now handles monitored device disappearance properly.
All users of device-mapper should upgrade to these updated packages, which
resolve these issues and include these enhancements.
