RHBA-2007:0135 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
cman-kernel bug fix update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Topic
Updated cman-kernel packages that fix module loading issues are now
available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 Update 5, kernel release
(2.6.9-55.EL).
Description
The cman-kernel package contains modules that allow the cluster manager
(cman) to communicate with the kernel.
The following bug fixes are applied by this update:
- The cluster_id field was added to the cluster.conf file.
- A race condition was fixed which could cause a panic in cman-kernel.
- A bug which caused the system to crash when running 'less
/proc/cluster/status' has been fixed.
- A bug which caused the system to crash or hang when mounting a large
number of GFS file systems has been fixed.
These updated cman-kernel packages are in sync with the latest kernel
(2.6.9-55.EL). The modules in earlier cman-kernel packages failed to load
because they did not match the running kernel. It was possible to force
load the modules; however, with this update, users do not need to.
Users are advised to upgrade to these latest cman-kernel packages, which
are updated for use with the 2.6.9-55.EL kernel.
