RHBA-2006:0319 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
perl-DBD-MySQL bug fix update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Topic
Updated perl-DBD-MySQL packages are now available.
Description
The perl-DBD-MySQL package contains an implementation of DBI for MySQL for
Perl.
This update resolves the perl dlopen error that results when the
PERL_DL_NONLAZY environment variable is defined and the DBD::mysql module
is loaded. This error occurred because perl-DBD-MySQL was compiled
expecting SSL to be enabled in MySQL, but the mysql package in RHEL-3 does
not enable SSL. This prevented modules that require DBD::mysql from being
installed, as the MakeMaker modules set PERL_DL_NONLAZY during the package
test phase.
All users of perl-DBD-MySQL are advised to upgrade to these updated
packages, which resolve this issue.
