RHBA-2004:579 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
Updated quota package
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Topic
An updated quota package that fixes various bugs is now available.
Description
The quota package contains system administration tools for monitoring
and limiting user and or group disk usage for each file system listed in
/etc/mtab. The quota package prints only the user quotas by default. For
file systems that are NFS-mounted, a call to rpc.rquotad on the server
machine is performed to get the information.
The quota package has been updated to the 3.10 version which corrects the
following issues:
- An alternative port can be specified to rpc.rquotad via the -p option
- Fixed processing of device-backed loop mounts
- Fixed fake error messages from rpc.rquotad
- The quota(1) command now does not print information for NFS file
systems without quotas
- XFS roothack option is disabled by default
- Added an option to warnquota(8) to supress details of report
- Fixed problems with multiple lines values in warnquota(8)
- Changed the detection of kernel interface so that it works even without
/proc
- Updated Polish messages
- Updated the quotactl(2) manpage
- Fixed a bug in -f option of edquota(8)
- Fixed a formatting bug in warnquota(8)
- Added a -s option (choice of more appropriate units) to warnquota(8)
All users of the quota package should upgrade to this updated version,
which corrects these issues.
