RHBA-2004:379 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
Updated GFS packages
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Topic
Updated GFS packages that resolve module loading, which match the latest
running kernel (2.4.21-15.0.3.EL), are now available.
Description
The Red Hat Global File System (GFS) provides high availability of critical
server applications in the event of planned or unplanned system downtime.
These updated packages include support for the latest kernel, 2.4.21-15.0.3.EL.
It is possible to force load the modules, but this update alleviates the
user from having to do so.
Also, the following bug has been discovered and addressed:
- Fixed a bug where only 10 nodes were allowed to mount a file system.
Users are advised to update these latest GFS packages, which are built for
the 2.4.21-15.0.3.EL kernel.
Solution
Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
To update all RPMs for your particular architecture, run:
rpm -Fvh [filenames]
where [filenames] is a list of the RPMs you wish to upgrade. Only those
RPMs which are currently installed will be updated. Those RPMs which are
not installed but included in the list will not be updated. Note that you
can also use wildcards (*.rpm) if your current directory *only* contains the
desired RPMs.
Please note that this update is also available via Red Hat Network. Many
people find this an easier way to apply updates. To use Red Hat Network,
launch the Red Hat Update Agent with the following command:
up2date
This will start an interactive process that will result in the appropriate
RPMs being upgraded on your system.
