RHBA-2003:178 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
Fixed piranha-gui to work with recent php errata
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Topic
The piranha-gui has been fixed to work with recent php errata (which does
not allow php short open tags by default).
Description
Piranha-gui is a Web-based configuration tool for the Piranha load
balancing server. It is written in PHP, a server-side scripting language
designed for Web applications. PHP code is embedded in HTML using special
tags. This errata changes the piranha-gui code to use a more portable
style of embedding tag.
There are four different sets of tags that are used to embed PHP code, but
only two of them are completely portable. The previous piranha-gui uses
the less portable php short open tags which are disabled by default in the
latest php errata. In this errata, these short open tags have been
converted to the preferred XHTML-style tags.
