MMS-EASE Lite is a source code package for the IEC 61850 substation automation standard that has been optimized for use in Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs) such as RTUs, reclosers, PLCs, meters and other resource constrained embedded applications. MMS-EASE Lite is a source code implementation of IEC 61850 that is specifically designed for embedded environments. MMS-EASE Lite can lower your cost to develop IEC 61850 and ICCP-TASE.2 compatible devices by providing you a field proven implementation on which to base your design. Because MMS-EASE Lite is designed specifically for the embedded environment, it provides you with an implementation that is easy to use, is portable to virtually any operating system (or even no operating system), is code efficient, and has a flexible memory management architecture to accommodate the resource constrained environments of embedded systems.- MMS-EASE Lite includes object creation technologies that can save you many hours of work versus developing object management code yourself. All object creation methods can be extended to support other emerging IEC 61850 related standards such as wind power and distributed generation models as well as proprietary data object extensions. The MMS-EASE Lite source code is written entirely in ANSI compatible C. SISCO provides MMS-EASE Lite with support for Win32, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux . The code is easily portable to ANY environment supporting an ANSI C compiler. Portation and development services are available if needed. MMS-EASE Lite has been ported into many different operating systems and CPU types by the user and typically without any assistance from SISCO. MMS-EASE Lite currently supports IEC 61850 Edition 2 including parts 6, 7-2, 7-3, 7-4, 7-410, 7-420, 8-1, 9-2 and IEC 61400-25-2. SISCO has many customers that have already developed, shipped, installed, and commissioned systems using IEC 61850 devices and applications based on MMS-EASE Lite .
