WebSphere ILOG Rule Team Server
IBM-Software Group
The corporate policies that govern your company have been extracted from its various computer applications and now exist as business rules within a Business Rule Management System (BRMS). Business rules are simply policy statements expressed in a way that can be interpreted by a computer system. Rule Team Server is an important part of your company’s BRMS and serves as a designated workspace where business users can work collaboratively to author, edit, organize, and search for business rules. With Rule Team Server you access rule projects, which contain all the elements you need to author and manage your company’s business rules. The projects and the elements they contain are stored in a rule repository, that is, a database connected to Rule Team Server. The business rules you author or modify within Rule Team Server are not immediately reflected back to the rule-based computer applications on which they act;there is an intermediate step called deployment. Deployment involves sending sets of rules to a server that handles the execution of the rules and its interaction with the rule-based applications.
