NFWare Carrier-Grade NAT is an NFV-based virtual appliance designed to provide high performance and transparent address and protocol translation. It is a centralized NAT placed in the service provider's network to help extend the life of an IPv4 network infrastructure, mitigate IPv4 address exhaustion and provide a seamless migration to IPv6. Following the NAT concept, the public IPv4 addresses are pulled away from the customer site, where their multiplexing capacity is not efficiently exploited, to the outside of the centralized vCGNAT, where many customer networks can share a single public IPv4 address.
NFWare Virtual Carrier Grade NAT is based on cutting-edge scientific research and next generation computer networks. It’s a fully software application providing CG-NAT functions with the same performance level as hardware.
