Call Session Control Function (CSCF) is the central component of IMS. CSCF provides shared communication control functions for IMS service applications such as Multimedia Telephony, Voice over LTE (VoLTE), WiFi calling, Enriched communication or any other IMS-based service application. CSCF builds a horizontal layer that allows for the convergence of different access networks on a single service delivery platform.

Ericsson CSCF is the most widely field-tested CSCF for interoperability in the world, with standards, third-party nodes, terminals and legacy networks. It has proven interoperability with more than 90 networks in live operation.

Ericsson virtual CSCF provides carrier grade high availability and is integrated with VMware’s cloud environment supporting fast onboarding, full scalability, live migration and has the same feature set as its physical sibling CSCF.
