Overview
The vMX is a full-featured, carrier-grade virtual MX Series 3D Universal Edge Router that extends 15+ years of Juniper Networks edge routing expertise to the virtual realm.
The vMX has complete control, forwarding, and management planes: it runs the Junos operating system and supports vTrio packet handling and forwarding by compiling the programmable Junos Trio chipset microcode for x86 chipsets. This ensures complete feature and operational consistency with physical MX Series platforms.
The vMX provides sophisticated routing services in support of virtual Provider Edge (vPE), virtual Broadband Network Gateway (vBNG), virtual Route Reflector (vRR), and virtual customer premises equipment (vCPE) applications. With its DevOps style service focus, it is ideally suited for rapid service scale-out and agile service introduction and modification for service providers and cloud operators.

Support
Red Hat will provide support for Red Hat OpenStack Platform pursuant to the terms in the subscription agreement. Any support for the VNF functionality will need to be provided by the VNF Partner pursuant to their terms.
