Archive Manager software creates a NAS archive gateway or Edge server to allow data that is infrequently accessed to be archived to an OpenStack based Cloud.
QStar Technologies Archive Manager software allows organizations to include, as part of their archive nvironment, cloud storage by creating an archive gateway. Data that is static and unchanging can be relocated to the cloud where it is stored more securely. Cloud storage can provide a lower total cost of ownership and replaces high capital expenditure (CAPEX) for lower monthly operating expenses (OPEX). A network interface using standard CIFS or NFS protocols allows data to be stored to an “Edge” server. The software is installed on a real or virtual server, running Windows or Linux, at the user’s premise. The server uses a disk cache of any size or technology configuration; SSD, fast disk, slow disk or flash optimized disk, where all file metadata is maintained, while the file is stored to the Cloud.
