RapidStor offers a complete fault tolerant and high performance data storage infrastructure. It is a software defined solution capable of maintaining and managing data volumes and virtual machines from a single node to an entire cluster of multiple nodes. RapidStor is designed to scale both up and out. All of which runs transparently to the user under a single management interface.

When scaled out, data is replicated across multiple nodes in a cluster. If one drive or an entire server failed or went off-line (i.e. maintenance), data will continue to be serviced, uninterrupted. There is no concept of spare drives. If a volume fails, RapidStor is intelligent enough to recognize the failure and replicate the data to another volume already in the pool. This eliminates the need to waste an entire drive and have it sit idle until a failure occurs.
