PageAlert-2.5

PageAlert is easy to use, yet powerful alerting and notification software that provides advanced messaging and escalation management of IT resource problems and events. PageAlert's core functionality keeps IT personnel informed of potential technical problems and events such as system failures, errors, thresholds, exceptions and completed tasks.
PageAlert is client/server network paging software that permits communications from any application running on an enabled client (such as a system running Red Hat Linux 7.0 or later) to be sent to the PageAlert server engine (must be Windows 2000, XP or 2003). Messages from operating systems environments, workload management applications and production applications are analyzed by the server and forwarded to the appropriate staff members through a variety of protocols and messaging devices including pagers, phones (mobile and land line), PCs, and PDAs. Notifications may be triggered in PageAlert through the use of either a client program sending a message to the PageAlert server or through SNMP traps.

Notification protocols include SNPP (a one and two-way pager internet protocol); SMTP (internet email to phones, desktops); TAP (alphanumeric modem protocol to pagers); IVR (uses telephony boards to call users and solicit responses); Numeric (uses a modem to send DTMF to a pager).

Alert triggers run on HP-UX, Sun Solaris, IBM AIX, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Windows and MPE/iX.
