Couchbase Server

Couchbase is a distributed NoSQL database architected to address the demanding enterprise requirements of modern cloud-native applications. Couchbase uniquely combines memory-first performance with the persistence, availability, query and resiliency capabilities of an enterprise-grade database well suited for business critical web, mobile and IoT apps. Couchbase runs on any cloud, bare metal, virtualized or containerized environment.

Couchbase Server is certified on RHEL 8 and RHEL 7 and is a fully scale-out, memory-first and persistent NoSQL database. Couchbase Server is the only NoSQL database that integrates a native caching tier and a document-oriented database, eliminating the need to install and manage a separate cache service. Couchbase is also the only big data database that offers a native integrated NoSQL mobile solution (Couchbase Mobile), including pre-built data synchronization (Couchbase Sync Gateway) and an embedded database (Couchbase Lite), enabling fast and easy development of mobile apps with online/offline data access.

Couchbase is also a Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) member and is the world’s first NoSQL database to develop and certify an application-specific Operator for use with Kubernetes orchestrated clusters.

The Couchbase Autonomous Operator is fully certified with Red Hat OpenShift and available in the Red Hat Container Catalog, and makes the easiest to manage data platform even easier by providing native OpenShift integration with Couchbase. It automates administrative tasks and operational best practices while maintaining full data platform capabilities from within and across clouds and on-premises deployments[LD1] .

Couchbase Autonomous Operator extends the Kubernetes API to create, configure and manage instances of complex stateful applications on behalf of a Kubernetes user. It builds upon the basic Kubernetes resource and controller concepts, but also includes domain an application-specific knowledge to automate common tasks better managed by computers.

Use the Couchbase Autonomous Operator to deploy Couchbase Server alongside your cloud-native applications in public, private, and multi-cloud environments without sacrificing the portability and manageability of your data. By automating the management of common Couchbase tasks such as the configuration, creation, scaling, and recovery of Couchbase clusters, you can focus on the desired outcome rather than worrying about the details of manual deployment and lifecycle management.
