Socket Station 1.12

Socket Station is a data collector and broadcaster that provides a mediation layer between your event sources (equipment and applications) and the data consumers (network management systems, performance management systems, utilities, and personnel). It can tail logs, receive Syslog, translate SNMP traps to XML, read a POP3 email account, script interactive login/execution commands and then read the I/O, read console data off serial ports through a terminal server, and more. All this data is then available real-time, replicated, and buffered to one or multiple listeners via socket (or telnet) connections.
One connection is also reserved for 2-way communication. This supports automated systems or manual sessions. RADIUS authentication, IP-filtering access controls, and session log files provide security.

Socket Station can provide robust event stream mediation for multiple network management applications at once. Automatic reconnects and connect/idle/disconnect dialog scripts ensure the event source is maintained. On the listener (NMS) side, clients stay connected regardless of the state of the event source side -- so you don't have a domino reset effect when you need to manage your event source or its connection.
