非常に大規模なネットワークでは、複数の Red Hat Satellite を水平に階層化した構成で、クライアント要求の負荷の均衡を保つようにしたより分散型の方法が必要になる場合があります。
rhn-satellite-exporter コマンドと satellite-sync -m コマンドを使用すると、別々の Red Hat Satellite 間のコンテンツを同期させることができます。また、 コンテンツの同期用に設計された Inter-Satellite Sync 2 の機能を利用することもできます。
ただし、この水平構造についてはメンテナンスに手間がかかるのが最大の短所となります。
