ランレベルを設定する最良の方法の 1 つは、initscript ユーティリティを使用することです。これらのツールは、SysV init ディレクトリ階層の中でファイルを保全するタスクを簡潔化するように設計されていますので、システム管理者は
/etc/rc.d/ のサブディレクトリから数多くのシンボリックリンクを直接操作する必要がなくなります。
Red Hat Enterprise Linux はそのようなユーティリティを 3 種類提供します。
/sbin/chkconfig—/sbin/chkconfigユーティリティは、シンプルなコマンド行ツールで/etc/rc.d/init.dディレクトリ階層のメンテナンスに使用します。- /usr/sbin/ntsysv — ncurses ベースの /sbin/ntsysv ユーティリティは対話式のテキストベースインターフェースを提供しますので、
chkconfigよりも簡単だと考えられています。 - サービス設定ツール — グラフィカルな サービス設定ツール (
system-config-services) プログラムはランレベル設定のための柔軟なユーティリティです。
