第29章 メディアを使用しないインストール

この手順は、ユーザーがすでに Red Hat Enterprise Linux、または別の比較的新しい Linux ディストリビューションと GRUB ブートローダーを使用していることを前提としています。また、ユーザーに Linux のいくらかの経験があることも前提としています。
このセクションでは、物理的なメディアを追加せずにユーザーが使用するシステム上に Red Hat Enterprise Linux をインストールする方法を説明します。インストールプログラムをスタートするには、既存の GRUB ブートローダーを使用することができます。
29.1. ブートファイルの取り込み
メディアや PXE サーバーを必要としないインストールを実行するには、使用するシステムがカーネルと初期 RAM ディスクという 2 つのファイルをローカルに保存している必要があります。
vmlinuz ファイルと initrd.img ファイルを Red Hat Enterprise Linux DVD (または DVD イメージ) から /boot/ ディレクトリにコピーして、名前をそれぞれ vmlinuz-install と initrd.img-install に変更します。/boot/ ディレクトリにファイルを書き込むには、root 権限が必要です。
