Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 introduce btrfs come Anteprima di tecnologia. Btrfs è un filesystem Linux di prossima generazione in grado di offrire funzioni avanzate di gestione, affidabilità e scalabilità. Btrfs fornisce una verifica checksum sia per i file che per i metadati. Esso offre altresì capacità di compressione e istantanee insieme ad una gestione del dispositivo integrata.
