2.4. Hypervisor Processes
There are a couple of services available which can automatically detect guests on a virtual host system and register them as virtual systems. This allows subscriptions which are specific to virtual systems to be available to the guest and for subscriptions which are inherited from the host to be applied to the guest.
There is a special service that works with Subscription Manager to detect and identify hypervisors and their guests:
virt-who.
The
virt-who packages are not installed by default, but are available to Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems as part of their subscription.
