3.11. Software Collection Log File Support

By default, programs packaged in a Software Collection create log files in the /opt/provider/software_collection/root/var/log/ directory. To make the log files more accessible and easier to manage, consider creating the log files outside of the Software Collection's file system hierarchy.

By using a Software Collection macro nfsmountable, you can configure the Software Collection to create the log files underneath the /var/opt/ directory. For more information on using the nfsmountable macro, see Section 3.5, “Using Software Collections over NFS”.
