Chapter 21. Downloading and building the school timetable reference implementation

If you want to see a completed example of the school timetable project for Red Hat Business Optimizer with Spring Boot product, download the starter application from the Red Hat Customer Portal.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the Software Downloads page in the Red Hat Customer Portal (login required), and select the product and version from the drop-down options:

    • Product: Red Hat Process Automation Manager
    • Version: 7.10
  2. Download Red Hat Process Automation Manager 7.10 Reference Implementations (rhpam-7.10.0-reference-implementation.zip).
  3. Download Red Hat Process Automation Manager 7.10 Maven Repository (rhpam-7.10.0-maven-repository.zip).
  4. Extract the rhpam-7.10.0-maven-repository.zip file.
  5. Copy the contents of the rhpam-7.10.0-maven-repository/maven-repository subdirectory into the ~/.m2/repository directory.
  6. Extract the rhpam-7.10.0-reference-implementation.zip file. This archive contains reference implementation ZIP files.
  7. Extract the rhpam-7.10.0-reference-implementation/rhpam-7.10.0-optaplanner-spring-boot-school-timetabling.zip file.
  8. Navigate to the optaplanner-spring-boot-school-timetabling-7.48.0.Final-redhat-00004 directory.

  9. Enter the following command to build the Spring Boot school timetabling project: 

    mvn clean install -DskipTests

  10. To build the Spring Boot school timetabling project, enter the following command: 

    mvn spring-boot:run -DskipTests

  11. To view the project, enter the following URL in a web browser: 

    http://localhost:8080/
