14.5. Create the Shared File System Service Database
Create a database and database user for the Shared File System service. All steps must be performed on the database server, while logged in as the
root user.
Procedure 14.2. Creating the Shared File System Service Database
- Connect to the database service:
#mysql -u root - Create the
maniladatabase:mysql>CREATE DATABASE manila; - Create a
maniladatabase user and grant the user access to themaniladatabase:mysql>GRANT ALL ON manila.* TO 'manila'@'%' IDENTIFIED BY 'MANILADBPASS';mysql>GRANT ALL ON manila.* TO 'manila'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY 'MANILADBPASS';Replace MANILADBPASS with a secure password that themanilaservice can use to authenticate with the database server. You will use this same password later in Section 14.4, “Configure Basic Shared File System Service Settings”. - Flush the database privileges to ensure that they take effect immediately:
mysql>FLUSH PRIVILEGES; - Exit the
mysqlclient:mysql>quit - Create the Shared File System service tables and apply all necessary migrations:
#manila-manage db sync
