Chapter 1. Release Notes
A new Red Hat Java S2I for OpenShift image based on OpenJDK 1.8 is available for use with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platforms 3.4 and 3.3.
OpenShift Container Platform provides an S2I (Source-to-Image) process to build and run applications. The S2I process combines your application source code with a builder image (such as JBoss EAP), to create an application image. The application image is then pushed to the OpenShift integrated registry, or to a standalone registry.
Red Hat Java S2I for OpenShift is a Source-to-Image (S2I) builder image designed for use with OpenShift Container Platforms 3.4 and 3.3. It allows users to build and run plain Java applications (fat-jar and flat classpath) within a containerized image on OpenShift.
For instructions on how to use this image, see the official documentation on the Red Hat Customer Portal.
