Chapter 22. Starting and Stopping the glusterd service
glusterdcommand line, logical storage volumes can be decoupled from physical hardware. Decoupling allows storage volumes to be grown, resized, and shrunk, without application or server downtime.
glusterdservice is started automatically on all servers in the trusted storage pool. The service can also be manually started and stopped as required.
- Run the following command to start glusterd manually.On RHEL 7 and RHEL 8, run
# systemctl start glusterdOn RHEL 6, run
# service glusterd start
ImportantRed Hat Gluster Storage is not supported on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 (RHEL 6) from 3.5 Batch Update 1 onwards. See Version Details table in section Red Hat Gluster Storage Software Components and Versions of the Installation Guide
- Run the following command to stop glusterd manually.On RHEL 7 and RHEL 8, run
# systemctl stop glusterdOn RHEL 6, run
# service glusterd stop
