3.2. Set Broker options in a configuration file
To set the Broker options when running the Broker as a service, or to create a set of options that can be used when starting the Broker from the command-line, but without having to specify them each time on the command-line, use a configuration file.
- Become the root user, and open the
/etc/qpid/qpidd.conffile in a text editor. - This example uses the configuration file to enable debug tracing. Changes will take effect from the next time the broker is started and will be used in every subsequent session.
# Configuration file for qpidd trace=1
- If you are running the broker as a service, you need to restart the service to reload the configuration options.
# service qpidd restart Stopping qpidd daemon: [ OK ] Starting qpidd daemon: [ OK ]
- If you are running the broker from the command-line, start the broker with no command-line options to use the configuration file.
# /usr/sbin/qpidd [date] [time] info Locked data directory: /var/lib/qpidd [date] [time] info Management enabled [date] [time] info Listening on port 5672
