Chapter 13. Mmap
mmapsystem call allows a file (or parts of a file) to be mapped to memory. This allows the file content to be changed with a memory operation, avoiding system calls and input/output operations.
Always synchronize the changes to disk, and plan for a process hang that could result in data loss.
