1.10.3. Configuring an iface for iSCSI Offload
iscsiadmwill create an
ifaceconfiguration for each Chelsio, Broadcom, and ServerEngines port. To view available
ifaceconfigurations, use the same command for doing so in software iSCSI, i.e.
iscsiadm -m iface.
Before using the
ifaceof a network card for iSCSI offload, first set the IP address (
target_IP) that the device should use. For ServerEngines devices that use the
be2iscsidriver (i.e. ServerEngines iSCSI HBAs), the IP address is configured in the ServerEngines BIOS setup screen.
For Chelsio and Broadcom devices, the procedure for configuring the IP address is the same as for any other
ifacesetting. So to configure the IP address of the
iscsiadm -m iface -I iface_name -o update -n iface.ipaddress -v target_IP
For example, to set the
ifaceIP address of a Chelsio card (with
iscsiadm -m iface -I cxgb3i.00:07:43:05:97:07 -o update -n iface.ipaddress -v 126.96.36.199
