Chapter 1. Long Term Support for AMQ Broker 7.4

Important

7.4.6 is the final micro release in the AMQ Broker 7.4 Long Term Support (LTS) release stream. After 7.4.6, no further bug fixes will be provided as part of this LTS release stream.

To remain in a supported configuration, you should upgrade your deployment to the AMQ Broker 7.8 LTS release stream. For instructions on upgrading Linux and Windows-based broker deployments between LTS streams, see Upgrading a broker instance between Long Term Support versions.

AMQ Broker 7.4 has been designated as a Long Term Support (LTS) release version. Bug fixes and security advisories will be made available for AMQ Broker 7.4 in a series of micro releases (7.4.1, 7.4.2, 7.4.3, and so on) for a period of at least 12 months.

This means that you will be able to get recent bug fixes and security advisories for AMQ Broker without having to upgrade to a new minor release.

Note the following important points about the LTS release stream:

  • The LTS release stream provides only bug fixes. No new enhancements will be added to this stream.
  • To remain in a supported configuration, you must upgrade to the latest micro release in the LTS release stream.
  • The LTS version will be supported for at least 12 months from the time of the Broker 7.4.0 GA.
  • The container images for the LTS release stream (versions 7.4.1 and later) will be available from the Red Hat container registry in a separate image stream. The LTS container images will not use the 7.4.0 image stream.

For information about issues resolved in the 7.4 LTS release stream, see AMQ 7 - 7.4.x Resolved Issues.
