7.7. Loading Capacity Data from a File
The Administration Console uses the same
Admin Stats library used by the oo-stats command to collect capacity data. Record the YAML or JSON output from the oo-stats command and use the output directly instead of the actual system data using the following procedure:
Procedure 7.1. To Load Capacity Data from a File:
- Run the following command to gather capacity data on a broker host, which then records the output to a file. Replace yaml with json, if needed:
#
oo-stats -f yaml > /tmp/stats.yaml - Copy
/tmp/stats.yamlto the host running the Administration Console, if needed. - Set
/tmp/stats.yamlin theSTATS_FROM_FILEparameter in the/etc/openshift/plugins.d/openshift-origin-admin-console.conffile. - SELinux limits what the broker application can read (for example, it cannot ordinarily read
/tmpentries). To ensure that the broker can read the data file, adjust its context as follows:#
chcon system_u:object_r:httpd_sys_content_t:s0 /tmp/stats.yaml - Restart the broker:
#
service openshift-broker restart
The Administration Console will now use the loaded file for capacity views and suggestions, although navigation still only works for entities actually present.
